Let's just say for the sake of argument the Gov't wanted to enslave it's people. Would you fight the Gov't for your freedom or just become a slave? If you decide to fight, would you want to use AK-47 or my daughters pink .22 single shot cricket rifle?

In urban warfare the UZI is way more practical than a bolt action hunting rifle. For me that is reason enough to own an assault rifle.

#1 to defend us from our Government (One of the 1st things that Dictorships do is disarm the civilian population)This was done during the Roman empire and was done not so long ago Hugo Chavez in Venezuela

Good examples was the Nazi disarming of Jews before they started tossing them in contrition camps (would probably had been tougher if they could have defended themselves from there Gov)

#2 The defend us from our Neabors - Sure there are break-ins and the like but I am thinking more alone the line of a natural disaster (Think New Orleans) where even officers of the law start looting and the like

#3 Defend us from invasion - I am not stupid and do not think that "Red Dawn" is something that is likely BUT if the USA were to REALLY be attacked I do not want to leave my only defense to be a general in Washington deciding if it is a stregic advantage to protect SWVA.



There are my 3 arguments to not disarm civilians.

R13 if you hate the law so much run for office and try to change it( which changing that will never happen) and until then just leave it be . We can have those guns end of convo.

Plus... how is anybody going to get good at Call of Duty 5 before it comes out if we don't have real auto-rifles to practice with out in the yard???

Our government does have slaves. They are known as lifetime welfare recipients who pass the mind set from generation to generation always looking for a handout from the government instead of getting off their lazy arses and working. I have no problem whatever in helping someone with a hand up, but it burns my a$$ to keep giving handouts to people who are just awaiting the next "wealth redistribution".

And to think that they didn't expect advances in weaponry is plain silly. They expected advances in every field. And what screws it up for the rest of us is the weak legal system we have. If you murder someone, you get the death penalty plain and simple. Bleeding heart liberals who will murder an innocent baby in the womb yet whine when a ruthless murderer is given exactly what he deserves. God himself said that if a man takes a life (murder) then his life will also be taken as retribution.
